In a quest to accelerate EV adoption in the country, several manufacturers like Hyundai, Kia, BYD, Tata Motors, and MG Motor, etc, have expedited the installation of charging stations across the country. Not only will the availability of the charging station help overcome range anxiety for those who are travelling, but will also contribute to addressing barriers to EV adoption.These charging points are typically installed at hotels, service centres, and workplaces, hence, contact your respective manufacturer for more information on the location.
Here's a compilation of the nearest charging station* according to your vehicle manufacturer.
Hyundai:
Hyundai, one of the prominent players in the EV scene in Nepal, offers the Kona and Ioniq electric cars in Nepal, both of which have managed to gain significant popularity amongst audiences. While the Kona Electric is available in two battery packs - 39.2 kWh and 64 kWh, the Ioniq Electric gets a single 38.3 kWh battery pack only. The Kona Electric is priced at Rs 56.96 Lakh and Rs 71.96 Lakh, and the Ioniq Electric is available at Rs 57.96 Lakh.In a bid to help quell concerns about the infrastructural shortcoming for electric vehicles in Nepal, Hyundai Nepal has invested in its own infrastructural developments. The company is concentrating its efforts to improve its charging platforms across the country along with several other long-term and short-term plans. There are currently 22 Charging stations installed in various parts of Nepal. According to the company, their current plans forecast an installation of up to 50 charging stations across major cities and national highways within a year.The company will introduce the IONIQ5 in the Nepalese market by the last quarter of 2021 or early 2022.

Kia:
KIA, one of the pioneers in the Nepalese EV market, is bullish on the acceptance of electric vehicles in the country. Hence, the Korean manufacturer will be shortly adding new charging stations across major cities in the country. Currently, Kia only offers the Niro EV in the Nepalese market. The Niro EV which comes with a 64 kWh battery pack is available at a price tag of Rs 69.90 Lakh.As per reports, KIA Nepal is also looking for possibilities of bringing the EV6 crossover, Kia's First Dedicated Electric Vehicle built on the new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), in the Nepalese market.

BYD:
BYD, one of the highest-selling electric vehicles brand in the world, claims to have the largest charging network in Nepal. This is supported by the fact that the company sells fully electric cars, vans, buses, and forklifts in the Nepalese market.Cimex Inc., the sole authorised distributor for BYD in Nepal, has been working towards electric mobility in Nepal focused on B2G and B2B segments since 2017. The company has been delivering electric vehicles in Nepal in both commercials as well as passenger segments. Currently, the Chinese multinational offers the new e6 and previous-gen e6 electric cars, M3 and T3 electric vans, K8 and K9 electric buses, and electric forklifts.The company plans to launch the EA1 premium hatchback in the near future.

Tata Motors:
Sipradi Trading, the sole authorised distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal, has been aggressive in setting up charging infrastructures at strategic locations across the country. As of now, at the time of writing, the company has already installed 8 DC Fast Chargers across the country. The company also plans to install 15+ DC Fast Chargers within 150 km of all strategic road networks. On top of that, the company will come up with 100+ AC charging points and on-demand mobile charging. Tata Motors will also provide free home charging device and installation services for seamless home charging solutions.Tata Motors offers the Nexon EV in the country at a starting price of Rs 35.99 Lakh. The Nexon EV is available in three variants - XM (Rs 35.99 Lakh), XZ+ (Rs 37.99 Lakh), and XZ+ LUX (Rs 39.99 Lakh).

MG Motor:
MG Motor, one of the most popular EV brands in the country, currently has charging points in Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, and Biratnagar. The company's upcoming charging points are in Butwal, Dhalkebar, Bardibas, Chumlingtar, Birtamod, and Nepalgunj. The company plans to add a total of 25 charging points across the country.MG Motor offers the all-electric ZS EV compact SUV at a price tag of Rs 59.99 Lakh.

On top of that, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) says it is constructing 50 charging stations for EVs across the country within one year. According to NEA, these places will have the charging stations: Kathmandu valley, Damak, Bhadaapur, Kankai, Biratnagar, Itahari, Birgunj, Simara, Chandranigahapur, Dhalkebar, Janakpurdham, Bardibas, Rajbiraj, Malekhu, Sindhuli, Hetauda, Bharatpur, Mugling-Kurintar, Banepa, Nawalpur, Damauli, Syangja, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Bhalubang, Dang, Rupandehi, Bardaghat-Sunawal, Surkhet, Mahendranagar, Dhangadhi, Dadeldhura.The government-run entity will build these stations with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank.
